PSW Biometric Verification Now Possible via PakID App

PSW Biometric Verification Now Possible via PakID App

If you’ve ever registered for the Pakistan Single Window (PSW), you know the one step that always slowed things down: the trip to a NADRA e-Sahulat Centre for biometric verification. That requirement has now been removed.

The Pakistan Single Window has officially integrated with NADRA’s PakID Mobile App, allowing users to complete their mandatory biometric verification remotely straight from their smartphone. This applies whether you’re signing up for a new PSW subscription, renewing an existing one, or simply updating your profile details.

What Has Actually Changed

Until now, anyone using PSW had to physically show up at a NADRA e-Sahulat Centre to get their biometrics verified. For traders based in Pakistan, that was an inconvenience. For overseas Pakistanis running import-export businesses from abroad, it was often a much bigger hurdle sometimes meaning delays of weeks just to get one verification step completed.

With this integration, that entire process can now happen digitally through the PakID app, subject to NADRA’s standard verification requirements. No center visit, no waiting in line, no coordinating a trip back to Pakistan just to tick one box.

Who Benefits the Most

While every PSW user gains from this update, the change is especially meaningful for overseas Pakistanis engaged in trade. A business owner in Dubai, London, or Riyadh managing shipments back home no longer needs to rely on a family member or agent to handle in-person verification  they can now do it themselves, remotely, whenever it suits them.

Old and New Systems Will Run Side by Side-For Now

PSW isn’t forcing an abrupt switch. Both verification methods the PakID app and physical NADRA e-Sahulat Centres — will remain available during an interim period. This gives businesses time to adjust and ensures no one is caught off guard if they’re mid-process or simply prefer the traditional route.

What PSW Leadership Is Saying

Speaking on the update, Syed Aftab Haider, CEO of PSW, framed it as a direct response to user feedback:

The integration with NADRA’s PakID Mobile App reflects our commitment to listening to the PSW community both in Pakistan and overseas and responding to their needs. By enabling remote biometric verification, we are removing another physical trip in the onboarding process and making the PSW user journey more convenient, accessible, and user driven.”

The Bigger Picture

This move effectively removes the last remaining physical requirement in the PSW subscription process, making the entire onboarding journey end-to-end digital. It fits into a broader pattern of Pakistan’s trade and regulatory bodies pushing toward paperless, remote-first systems something that’s been a recurring demand from the business community for years.

For a platform like PSW, which exists specifically to simplify cross-border trade documentation, cutting out a mandatory in-person step is a meaningful step toward reducing friction for both local and overseas users.

What This Means for You

If you’re a PSW user  new or existing  you can now choose to:

  • Complete biometric verification via the PakID Mobile App, or
  • Continue visiting a NADRA e-Sahulat Centre, if you prefer the in-person process

For overseas Pakistanis in particular, this is one less reason to delay getting your trade documentation in order.
